Red Team – Day 4 – Bunjakko Arrival

After leaving the equator, the Red and Gold teams split up officially for the week to their different schools and the Red team headed off to Bunjakko school. After an hour long journey, we were greeted at the school by all the lovely and smiley students who were full of joy and welcomed us all very warmly into the community where we will be staying for the next week. The Pearl of Africa Choir sang and danced on our arrival, which was amazing. After settling into our rooms and an hour of playing games, such as French cricket and football outside, we were all taken on a tour of the site by the students who study here. Everyone was so happy to see us and were very sociable and we all felt privileged to meet each other. On completion of the tour, we had a tea break whilst dancing and socialising with the local students. As the evening commenced we had our meal for the evening, consisting of rice, beans, potatoes, chicken, watermelon and pineapple. Finally, we were able to settle down, shower and play games by the pit fire.

See you soon Liv Allen, Izzy John
